My first blog video! In the slow season, should always try to do something new, so I hope to try my hand with video. With the new software and the camera's "interval shooting ability, stop action animation is relatively easy. It still comes down to eye and ideas. I think the possibilities with wedding slideshows , animation, and combining photos and sound are limtless, I have a few ideas I hope to try....

This was the Maynard Community Band's Holiday Concert, 1 1/2 hour performance, complete with a visit from Santa, in under 3 minutes. I had hoped to put a recording of the concert with the video but I have alot more learning (and equipment buying probably) to do to get that right. Instead, I used "Jingle Bell Samba" from Crewation's album, "A Crewation Christmas".

Had a great time at the Blue Skies Studios Open House! http://blueskiesstudios.org/
The Parish Jazz Band http://www.parishjazzband.blogspot.com/
(of which I'm a member)
played some great jazz and Xmas tunes. There was plenty of good people, music, food, wine and art to keep things hopping. I got to do some kid portraits and also portraits of the Band members, so that was very cool.....

Photographed Colleen and Brendan's wedding at the Seaport Hotel. That's a really classy place with the World Trade Center building and a great view of the Boston Skyline right outside their door. Beautiful place and they always seem to have great bands playing there too.
That was my last scheduled wedding for 2009. I'm starting to get some dates filled for 2010 but there's always a bit of panick that sets in.....ah well, there's always "organizing"and fun "personal photo projects".

Was a drizzly, gray afternoon
today, which I think was actually good for the engagement session I had in Boston this afternoon. There were no harsh shadows, just nice soft and even lighting. We
went to the beautiful courtyard of the Boston Public Library and
Trinity Church, I've always wanted to shoot in there and the
weather gave a perfect excuse. Got a bit of Holiday feel to the pictures too...

Is Evan a great sport or what? Every year we do something for our Xmas card and this is the 2009 one. Fun to do, put the paper on the floor, got the stars, bead reins, and confetti snowflakes at the Dollar Store. Julie drew the roof and chimney and Oila! I wonder if I'm in alot of trouble when he becomes a teenager? Won't get away with this I'm sure.....

Shot portraits of some of the artists at Blue Skies Studios yesterday. We're all getting ready for our Big Open House this Sunday from 12:00 to 4:00. There'll be art, music by the Parish Jazz band, food and wine. Hope you can amke it!

Got to see Grace Kelly at Mechanics Hall today, really something else. 17 years old and dynamite on the sax. Has great stage presence too. Got my mom an autographed CD for Xmas (and myself one too...) If you get the chance, really should see her live.

I love music and photographing performances. Today I went to Worcester for WICN'(90.5) "Brown Bag Concert Series". Miss Tess and The Bon Ton Parade were there and they did a great mix of retro-sounding original jazz, swing and torch songs. Beautiful venue too. A really cool program during these times....Happy Thanksgiving!

It was a dark and misty night.....
last Saturday night at the Belcourt Castle in Newport RI.
As I was going up to the balcony to get an above shot of Ana and Antonio's wedding service, I came across these mannequins in a pile....The place had many dark corners and hidden doors coming out walls, candles were the only light for the Ceremony, the cake had vampires on the top.....

Back in good-ole New England last weekend for Amy and Kurt's wedding at the Zorvino Vineyard in NH. Who knew NH had a vineyard?Anyway, the space was cool, post and beam with a balconey above.
Outside was foggy and drizzling.....Kinda made for some cool "mysterious" looking wedding
photos!
