Saturday afternoon I was at the studio photographing a great local band, BARE HILL. Afterward, got to see them play down the street at the Harvest Cafe (gave me a nice shout-out too!). Cool show, everything from Clearence Clearwater Revival, Grateful Dead to more modern stuff. What I really liked was their mix of instruments. They had congas, mandolin, and accordian going on, along with the drums, guitar, and keyboard. Should check them out at-

Monday I was at TOMB near Fenway Park for the kids-friendly cover shoot for Panorama Magazine. I'd never been there before but it's pretty cool. I did the shoot and then got to get a tour. It's funny, the kids were fine while we were running around shooting, but got really scared once our tour started.....!

Saturday afternoon was beautiful at the Acton Arboretum. The trees were flowering and the sun was out, so perfect for the Roberts family portrait session. The little one was off his nap schedule but still gave us some good smiles.....whew!

Had a VERY busy weekend. Funny thing about this business, your not doing much during the week, but the weekends can be crazy! My first shoot was an hour photo session with Joe at the studio. Nice guy and I think we got a good variety of shots.....

Went to Gallery Seven's "Black & White in the Digital Age" opening in Maynard last Saturday because my neighbor is one of the exhibiting photographers. The exhibition was mostly nature photos so I think that's what inspired me to take my D70s in the local woods on a cloudy, rainy day yesterday.
These aren't B/W, but I experimented with photoshop's merge function to get the wide angle views of a couple of trails, and played with very low depth of field with my 1.8- 50 mm lens. I really like the graphic, simple nature of these.....

Saturday night I was photographing the sound check and performance of the Boston String Players at Church of the Covenant on Newbury Street in Boston.

Beautiful venue for some beautiful music, they performed pieces from Debussy to Radiohead. They also included original pieces from members of the group! Should check them out if you get the chance.....

I've been playing around with putting portraits in new backgrounds and with frames. A bit of work invovled but I think they're pretty cool....can't wait to see the prints...
