Shot some portraits at the RECESS fundraiser for the Stow School reconstruction. The Father/Daughter Dance was at "On Your Toes" dance studio at the Thoreau Club in Concord. The girls had SO much fun with their Dads, it was really great to watch. Now if they could have a son and Dad dance, then I could dance too.....Evan would probably go for it.

Spent yesterday doing a shoot at Top of the Hub in the Pru for the Valentine's Day issue of Panorama Magazine. The pastry chef there does some desserts that are amazing pieces of art. I actually got to try one, and yes, they taste as good as they look. Got two of the staff there to pose as hand models and I think they look terrific for "non-professionals". Lucked out that she had red nail polish on, and the pearls were nice touch too....

Went to the restaurants Symphony8 and Bistro du Midi yesterday for a cover and article shoot for Panorama Magazine. Always a good challenge, usually involving a dark, unlit room. It was fun to get a drink picture involving a stuffed bear head in the background, something new (Symphony). Midi has a second floor room with large windows overlooking the Boston Public Garden so that was easier to light. Left quite hungry.......

Spent New Year's Eve in Morristown, NJ. We've been going there for years, the variety of acts and the ability to get up close is really great. I love photographing the performances, especially the dancers of traditions from other countries. 2010 First Night was no exception, except for one performer who did some old magic tricks and something involving a robotic monkey head (don't ask). The "Mask Messenger" (who we saw two years ago also) and the Balam (Balinese) Dance Theate provided some great shooting. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Now let's get that economy going......

My first blog video! In the slow season, should always try to do something new, so I hope to try my hand with video. With the new software and the camera's "interval shooting ability, stop action animation is relatively easy. It still comes down to eye and ideas. I think the possibilities with wedding slideshows , animation, and combining photos and sound are limtless, I have a few ideas I hope to try....

This was the Maynard Community Band's Holiday Concert, 1 1/2 hour performance, complete with a visit from Santa, in under 3 minutes. I had hoped to put a recording of the concert with the video but I have alot more learning (and equipment buying probably) to do to get that right. Instead, I used "Jingle Bell Samba" from Crewation's album, "A Crewation Christmas".

Had a great time at the Blue Skies Studios Open House! http://blueskiesstudios.org/
The Parish Jazz Band http://www.parishjazzband.blogspot.com/
(of which I'm a member)
played some great jazz and Xmas tunes. There was plenty of good people, music, food, wine and art to keep things hopping. I got to do some kid portraits and also portraits of the Band members, so that was very cool.....

Photographed Colleen and Brendan's wedding at the Seaport Hotel. That's a really classy place with the World Trade Center building and a great view of the Boston Skyline right outside their door. Beautiful place and they always seem to have great bands playing there too.
That was my last scheduled wedding for 2009. I'm starting to get some dates filled for 2010 but there's always a bit of panick that sets in.....ah well, there's always "organizing"and fun "personal photo projects".
